Training session Smaragdna vs. Yuuki

Smaragdna was alone in the training room, he was dealing heavy abuse to the training dummy. He wished that he had someone to train with, as just beating up a dummy wouldn't help him in a real fight.

Yuuki typed her passcode in, and the training room door opened with a resounding hiss. Yuuki had nothing better to do; there were no missions as of right now, and so she had let Dragon Storm have free reign over their free time. Then again, it wasn't like she controlled that anyways. With the rest of her team off doing who knows what, Yuuki had decided to head down to the training room to get some practice in. It would be beneficial.

Entering the door, she saw a familiar shape pummeling a training dummy rather violently. Ah, Smaragdna. One of her newest members. A faunus that had dropped from another universe entirely. He seemed to be completely alone; one look around revealed no one else inside large expanse.

"Smaragdna. Would you like to train against me?"

Smaragdna didn't hear anyone entering the training room. When she spoke he turned around and immediately took a defensive stance. When he noticed who it was he let his guard down. "Sure. It was getting boring beating the dummy." he walked over to a table he had left some training gear. He picked up two training blades and tossed one at her, " How about we do a switch training method? One where one of us is attacking the other defending, then after a little bit we switch roles."

Yuuki caught the sword deftly, testing its weight as she turned the blade around. She hummed, holding the sword out in front of her in a stance. "I will defend first then." She couldn't say she was the best at swordfighting, far from it, but she could hopefully hold her own against him.

Smaragdna held the blade, he had hand forged these and knew their strengths and weaknesses. Luckily swords are some of the most well rounded weapons. They have reach even though they are meant for close melee range. The guard has a curve to it for capturing weapons or limbs. The handle is made to be used as either a single handed or dual handed. The pommel was just a normal rounded pommel, nothing special. But that was its great power. The sword was so simple, but in the hands of Smar, this was a weapon of mass destruction.

He looked over Yuuki, she was small, possibly very fast. Smaller targets normally are. Luckily he wasn't in his heavy armor, but he still felt at a disadvantage. She had robotic legs, they could help her speed and land some deadly kicks, need to stay away from those. From how she held her sword, she seemed like she knew a fair amount of swordplay. He smiled, Maybe she doesn't know about Kali.
This could be so easy.

He started to slowly walk around her, seeing how she would react to his movements. He sent a few playful jabs at her to test what she would do to them.

Yuuki sidestepped the jabs smoothly, still testing the weight of the sword. These were handcrafted by Smar most likely, so he would know things that she wouldn't know about these blades. But not that that mattered too much; swordfighting had never been her expertise. She liked smaller weapons, easier to hide, faster to strike.

"Come. Let us begin."

Smar held the sword in his right hand and kept his left hand open for defensive means. He threw a couple more jabs at her chest before he dropped to try and kick her legs from under her.

Yuuki parried away the jabs from her chest, and leaped up as Smar swiped his legs from underneath her. She landed lightly, and sent a strong kick with her left leg towards Smar's side, slashing the sword around at the same time.

Smar missed taking out her legs. He kept up his momentum and spun to his knees. He looked up at her too see Yuuki trying to kick and slice him at the same time. Smar rolled backwards and then pushed himself back onto his feet. When she missed, he took advantage over her poor positioning and then tried to slam the sword down on her back. He planned to force her to stay on the defensive and keep up the attacks. He wasn't used to this aggressive fighting style, but he felt that he would have to adapt to this worlds faster fighting.
