A Day in the City ((Open to All <3))

((This is for anyone who wants to roleplay! :) To avoid any confusion, this takes place before Aiko's accident(seeing as it hasn't officially happened yet). Have fun!)


Summer has come. All the kids who were schooled were finally allowed to roam wherever they may please. Some adults may have a few days off to mark the beginning of the beloved season. All the beaches were bound to be crowded. Xastristan was perhaps more packed than it would be on a normal school day. That was understandable. Summer fun wasn't only available at pools. Xastristan is a huge city which is bound to have toy stores and indoor bounce houses and play areas. The place also has a lot of stands selling sweets and street food. Today, that was Aiko's prize. . .

FOOOOOOOOOD!!

Was she even allowed to be out here? Meh, the other team members of Dragonstorm would probably allow it but Draligon?. . . Probably not. But surely there was nothing wrong with going out to get a caramel apple? If there was any harm. . . Well. . . What was the harm? Nobody isn't going to poison it or anything. The only crime going on in Aiko's life today is the slaughter of an innocent, delicious treat!

The Neko had to stay in line forever. She was frustrated at that, but she couldn't blame them. She stood there for around 20 minutes, swaying and swinging her arms around, sometimes chanting a song under her breath and doing a little spin. At least Aiko wasn't all that bored. It was fun to see other species and cool creatures wandering around. Compared to other beings of The Beyond, a Neko is quite tame! There were skeletons, reptillians. . . It was kind of neat to watch, but Aiko tried not to stare. She finally got her apple. Finally! She stepped into the shade to eat it. The sun was very hot, and a bit of the caramel had already begun to get gooey. Aiko only got to eat a few bites until it fell off the stick. She gazed at it for a few seconds before her anger sunk in. She clenched her fists and said, very loudly,

"SHIT."

She instantly shut her mouth. Did she just curse? Oh dear. If she did that near the Team, she would be in huge trouble(maybe)! She glanced around frantically in anxiety to the nearby people, covering her mouth. "Uh. Sorry. That was an accident."

Alex yawned. It was still kind of early in the morning, but his parents had dragged him out of bed to go into the city where they had to take care of some business. And so they had allowed Alex some free reign in wandering around the area, so Alex was going to treat himself to some food, because what the heck, food was great. There wasn't really anything else in the area as well, so why not? It wasn't like he was desperate to go shopping anyway; there was nothing he needed.

Summer was great so far. Ish? Well, sort of. At least he didn't have any more homework (oh thank fudging god), but his mom was still making him do some history so he could get ready for his history subject test, which had been planted with a gigantic UGH inside his head.

He waited in line for the food, behind the really short girl with the cat ears and cat tail. Was she like, the same species as Kayla? But Kayla was a panther... well, it could probably work; his species was like that as well. She sorta reminded him of those Neko girls he'd see in anime, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing, now was it? He plugged in his earbuds, lightly bobbing his head to the music as he scrolled through his phone, pausing every once in a while to type in a comment.

When the line had finally reached his turn, Alex happily ordered an ice cream cone (shut up this cart also sells ice cream ok be quiet), contentedly licking the cold, cold sweet and humming as the delicious flavor of chocolate melted in his mouth. His wings slightly rustled, in sync with his current emotions. And then suddenly:

"SHIT."

What the hell was that? Alex turned his head towards the direction that the loud swear had come in, and conveniently, it was that cat girl he was standing behind earlier. He was only a good 10 ft away from her, and thanks to his sensitive hearing, it had been a lot louder than usual. Alex couldn't help but stifle a small snort, trying his best not to actually laugh out loud at the girl.

Summer was here, and Topher absolutely hated it.  It was much too hot for his liking, and he figured that he could probably get a little cooler if he took of his coat and wear shorts, but he didn't want people to think he was weak, even if they were complete strangers.  Topher was glad that the school year was almost over for him, even though he loved school, but he had no idea what he was going to do for the next 3 months.  He had decided to take a short break from studying for his upcoming final in Abstract Algebra.  The food stand where he was heading was across the park from his apartment, so he would have to suffer through about five minutes of listening to people to get what he wanted, plus another five minutes of waiting in line.  He figured it was a good thing he had left about half an hour of time for his break until he had to get back to studying.

Nothing eventful happened on his way to the food stand or while waiting in line for his hotdog.  As he passed by a young girl, looking to be in her early teenage years, she suddenly screamed something that would stick with him for the rest of the day.

"SHIT."

The world seemed to move in slow motion as he nearly jumped and tried to grab his tray tighter, but the hotdog slipped out and fell to the concrete below him, along with the ketchup.  He turned to the girl and was about to say something extremely rude to her, but instead shook his head, sighed and picked up his dirty hotdog and threw it into a nearby trash can, along with the tray and condiments. "You should really be more careful with how loudly you say things," he said to the girl, avoiding eye contact with her.  He didn't have time to get more food, and he left the rest of his money in his apartment anyways.  I guess I've always got ramen in the pantry he thought.

Aiko's face scrunched up into one of disgust as she picked up the messy apple from the ground, caramel dripping onto her hands. She popped it into a nearby trash can, revolted. If the caramel on her hands wasn't gritty with dirt, she wouldn't have hesitated to slurp it up. She tossed the stick in there as well.

Suddenly she heard snickering. Twitching an ear to the side of her head, she turned around to look towards the direction of where she heard the sound. There was a young teen seeming to be close to her age. He looked like your average Chinese boy. Aiko's face turned red out of embarrassment, but she couldn't help but laugh at her own misfortune and mistake as well. Her anxiety was vanquished and her spirits rose. "Hey, don't laugh at me!" However, the Neko was being a hypocrite and she couldn't help from giggling at herself as well.

However, she became disheartened when she heard someone scold her. The Neko turned around, her ears flattening to the back of her head. Before her was a human man. He seemed older than her. Not too much, but he was much more than just a year older than her. He was less than decade elder, though. However, this was all of Aiko's guesses. He could have been in his mid twenties, but Aiko didn't have a way of being certain.

Whatever. His age didn't matter. The teen couldn't help but feel a dagger of guilt stab her gut when she noticed him picking up his filthy food from the ground, which had faced the same fate as her snack. Had he already dropped it? Or did she surprise him, which made him drop it? She frowned, stammering. "S- Sorry. . . I know, um. . ." Aiko didn't have anything else to say, but she figured it would do no good if she stood there blabbering 'ohh im so sorry all my fault'. The amusement she shared with the boy towards her own mistake was gone and replaced with guilt. She fished out her leftover money from her pocket. She didn't have a job yet, and Team Dragonstorm probably wouldn't have given her pay just for standing around being a kid. She only had a few dollars from her birthdays and other holidays. She had brought 15 bucks with her for this trip. The caramel apple cost around 5, so she had $10 left with her. "Uh, is there a way I can make it up to you?"
